Vanguard Youth Camp 2024
Vanguard Community held it first ever Youth Camp for youth aged 16 years plus. The event, which held between 26th and 28thof December at the Thriftwood Scout Camp in Brentwood was attended by 26 participants both male and female.
The highlight event was the talk held on Friday the 27th with the main theme, Relationships: Navigating the treacherous waters of modernism as Muslim youths . Lectures were delivered by three distinguished and learned Muslim and Muslimah, with follow -on question-and-answer sessions. The youth also took part in rounds of physical activities at the campsite but a planned campfire night had to be held indoors due to inclement weather.
Overall, it was a successful event and the youth really had a nice time while at the same time learning more about the deen and the expectations from them growing into adulthood. We hope this will be a yearly event going forward and we sincerely thank all the youth and their parents and especially our distinguished lecturers and everyone else who have contributed in one way or the other to making the programme a success
